Esmeralda – Basic Info
- Role: Tank/Mage
- Lane Recommendation: Roaming/EXP lane/Mid Lane/Jungle
- Damage Type: Mixed (Magic + Physical)
- Basic Attack Range: Melee
Esmeralda is the #81 numbered heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. She is a unique hero with a hybrid role of a Tank and Mage type. Esmeralda is a very very versatile hero and you can play her in almost every lane because of her durability due to her unique shield stealing passive and damage output potential. Although, most of the players prefer to play her as a EXP laner and especially against Lapu Lapu to counter his shield granting passive. Esme’s another mechanic that makes her stand out among other heroes is that the damage she inflicts is a mix of both Magic and Physical type, so there is no hard counter defense item against her.
Some Trivias:
- Esmeralda dances through her enemies and elegantly takes them out.
- Esemeralda is the only hero who can grant shields to the enemy.
- Esemeralda is one of the two heroes who is classified as both Mage and Tank. The other one is Alice.
- You might find similarity in Esmeralda and Cleopatra because of her skin.
- You can cast Esmeralda’s active skill even while in motion using the joystick.
- Esmeralda has an interactive voice interaction with Khufra as a past lover and sworn enemies.
Skills and Passive
Passive
Esmeralda’s passive is called “Starmoon Casket” which is a Buff and Shield ability. Using her passive, Esmeralda manipulates her two weapons – Stardust and Frostmoon where Stardust deals Physical DMG and Frostmoon deals Magic DMG. It also grants the enemy a shield equal to 135% of Frostmoon’s damage dealt. Her basic attacks deal (+100% of her Total Physical Attack) as Physical DMG and 100 (+75% of her Total Magic Power) as Magic DMG. The unique thing is, Emeralda’s attack ignores the enemies shield and converts her own shield into HP continuously. The Frostmoon shield stack is unlimited but it lasts for 5 seconds only if Esmeralda doesn’t inflict Frostmoon’s damage on them.
Skill 1 – Frostmoon Shield
Esmeralda’s first skill is called “Frostmoon Shield” where casting the skill will grant Esmeralda 300-750 (+150% of her Total Magic Power) as a shield and gives an extra 40% movement speed boost that will decay over a period of 4 seconds. Using it on the enemy will transform the shield of her nearby enemies into her own. (The shield is capped at 50% of her Max HP.

Dealing damage to the enemies will reduce the cooldown of her first skill by 1.5 seconds (for non hero units, it is only 0.5 seconds).

- Use Esmeralda against a shield heavy lineup like Diggie, Odette, Harith and such to maximise her threat potential.
- Prioritise items for mana regen and Oracle because her early game is weak.
