MuMuPlayer Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 23 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NetEase Interactive Entertainment Pte. Ltd. and its affiliates (collectively, "NetEase", "we", or "us") collect, use, and share your personal information when you download, install, or use MuMuPlayer for Windows, macOS, or Windows on ARM, and any related websites, communities, customer support channels, or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services").
Your access to and use of the Services is also subject to our Terms of Use.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. By continuing to use the Services after an update, you acknowledge that personal information will be handled in accordance with the most recent version posted.
1. Personal information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and contact details — email address, phone number, password, and any third-party platform identifier you use to register or log in (we currently support sign-in with Google, in addition to email and phone). You may also provide a display name and profile image.
- Billing and transaction information — where you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, the billing details, payment-method information, and order details required to process the transaction. Payment-card data is collected directly by our payment processor.
- Customer support and communications — the content of any message, request, feedback, or attachment you send to us, and information you choose to provide when responding to surveys.
- User-generated content — content you submit through community channels, feedback forms, or product comments.
Information we collect automatically
- Device, system, and hardware information — device model, manufacturer, operating system and version, system language, region/locale, time zone, screen resolution and refresh rate, CPU and GPU information, available memory and storage, network adapter and graphics driver information, and persistent device identifiers (such as hardware UUID, machine identifier, and MAC address). We use this information to verify compatibility, allocate resources, recognise your installation across sessions, prevent fraud, and provide technical support.
- Network and connectivity information — IP address, internet service provider, network configuration (such as DNS and proxy settings), and connection status. Where we infer your approximate location (country, region, or city), we do so only from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation from your device.
- Usage and diagnostic information — log records of features you use, in-product events and settings, performance metrics, error reports, and crash dumps. Crash dumps may incidentally contain technical state from your device.
- Installed-application information — to enable core emulator functions (such as launching, updating, and presenting installed Android applications inside the emulator), the Services may read the list of applications installed within the emulator environment, and on certain platforms may detect the presence of specific host-side software components required for compatibility (for example, virtualization or graphics drivers).
- Clipboard exchange — to support copy and paste between your host computer and the Android environment running inside the emulator, the Services read and write clipboard content only at the moment you initiate a copy or paste action. Clipboard contents are processed locally on your device and are not retained by us or transmitted to our servers.
Information from third parties
- Third-party login providers. When you log in using a third-party account (such as Google), we receive the limited account information you authorise that provider to share with us, such as your account identifier and email address. Please review the third-party provider's own privacy policy.
- Payment processors. When you make a purchase, our payment processor confirms the transaction status and may provide us with limited information such as a hashed identifier and the country or region from which payment originated.
AI agent feature
If you use the in-product AI agent feature (Clawbox), the prompts and conversation content you provide to the agent are processed by our third-party model providers in order to generate responses. The handling of that content is described in our separate MuMuPlayer AI Feature Notice, which forms part of this Privacy Policy in respect of that feature.
Sensitive information
We do not ask you to provide, and we ask that you do not send us, special categories of personal data such as government-issued ID numbers, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin, biometric identifiers, precise geolocation, or trade-union membership.
2. How we use personal information
We use personal information for the following purposes:
- To provide the Services — install, run, update, and operate MuMuPlayer on your device; authenticate your account; allocate compute and graphics resources; localise the interface; and maintain saved settings.
- To process purchases — fulfil subscription orders, deliver paid features, manage renewals, and handle refunds where applicable.
- To provide customer support — respond to your questions, troubleshoot issues, and investigate reports.
- To maintain security and integrity — detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, cheating, malware, and unauthorised access; and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To improve the Services — analyse aggregated usage, performance, and crash data to fix bugs, optimise performance, and develop new features.
- To send service and product communications — send transactional notices, account messages, product updates, and (where lawful, and with your consent where required) first-party messages about new releases or features of the Services. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not display third-party advertising in the Services and do not use your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect rights — meet tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements; respond to lawful requests from authorities; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract with you, to deliver the Services and process purchases you request;
- Your consent (for example, optional analytics, optional first-party marketing communications, and any processing for which we ask separately) — you may withdraw consent at any time;
- Our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services and our business, where not overridden by your interests or rights; and
- Compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject.
3. How we share personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share personal information only as described below:
- Service providers — cloud hosting, content delivery, error and crash reporting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, and similar vendors who process information on our behalf and under contract.
- Third-party login providers and platforms — when you choose to use them.
- NetEase affiliates — for the purposes described in this Policy, on a confidential basis.
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets (including diligence).
- Legal and safety — where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms of Use, or protect the rights, property, or safety of NetEase, our users, or others.
International transfers
Our service providers, affiliates, and infrastructure are located in multiple countries. Where we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland to a country not subject to an applicable adequacy decision, we put in place appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's and the UK ICO's Standard Contractual Clauses. You may request a copy of these safeguards by contacting us.
4. Data retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy and to comply with our legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations. Retention periods vary by data category and purpose; we may retain data longer where required to establish or defend legal claims.
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a personal-data breach affecting you, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access a copy of your personal information and information about how we process it;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Delete personal information;
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Receive your information in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent (without affecting prior processing); and
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You may exercise these rights by contacting us using the details in Section 8 with the subject line "Privacy Rights Request". We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
Communications preferences
You may opt out of first-party product communications using the unsubscribe link included in each message or by contacting us.
6. Children
The Services are not directed to children under the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Additional information for U.S. residents
This section supplements the information above for residents of the United States.
We collect the categories of personal information described in Section 1, including: identifiers (such as email, IP address, and device identifiers); commercial information (such as transaction history); internet or other electronic network activity; approximate geolocation (country, region, or city inferred from IP); audio, visual, or similar information that you choose to provide; inferences drawn from the foregoing; and account log-in credentials in combination with passwords.
We do not "sell" personal information, and we do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
In addition to the rights listed in Section 5, U.S. residents — in particular residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — may have rights to: know the categories of personal information collected and disclosed; correct inaccurate information; delete information; opt out of sale or sharing (not applicable, as we do not sell or share); limit the use of sensitive personal information; and appeal a denied request. You may exercise these rights via the contact details in Section 8. You may designate an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.
