Basic Info

Kaname Tosen is a tactical SSR character which means that the guy has a battlefield area that allows him to deal more damage due to the area buff. Tosen is a Thrust type DPS character with the following basic stats at Level 1:

• ATK – 327
• DEF – 330
• HP – 1650

Skills

Here are the skills and abilities of Kaname Tosen:

1. Dodge

The dodge skill is what they call a Flash Step in the anime which is a very high speed transition to change positions in the battlefield. Use it to avoid any incoming attacks before they hit you.

When a Perfect Dodge is triggered, it activates the True Time Freeze effect for a duration of 1.5 seconds. During this effect, the character gains 15% ASPD and 25% Movement Speed for 4 seconds. You have to wait for the 15 seconds cooldown to go off before triggering the effect again.

2. Counter

After a successful counter against an enemy’s attack, quickly tapping the Attack will allow Tosen to dash behind the enemy and slash them that deals damage equal to 350% of ATK and inflict 8 stacks of Wound.

3. Basic Attack – Cry, Suzumushi

Kaname Tosen’s basic attack is called Cry, Suzumushi where he performs 5 consecutive slashes on the enemies in front of him using his sword, Suzumushi. It deals damage equal to 196% of ATK. The 4th strike launches the non-Super Armor enemies into the air and fires 4 Benihiko Short Stings and inflicts 1 stack of Wound on hit.

4. Battlefield Skill – Suzumushi Nishiki – Benihiko

The battlefield skill automatically triggers when a Thrust teammate deals damage. While the Battlefield Skill is active, it grants a(n) 30% Thrust DMG bonus to the entire team. Tosen then enters the field to perform a co-strike, dealing the same effect as the 5th strike of his basic attack and gaining 25 Battlefield Skill Energy. This skill can only be triggered once every 3 seconds and Tosen can’t be switched in again while it's active.

5. Passive – Wound

Kaname Tosen’s core passive is called Wound. All of Tosen’s attacks inflict Wound. Each stack of Wound deals damage equal to 2% of the caster’s ATK per second for 10 seconds, stacking up to 30 times. While the Battlefield Skill Flash Strike is active, triggers all Wound stacks and clears them.

Wound is a universal character mechanic. Wound stacks from different characters can stack together, but their damage is calculated separately based on each caster’s ATK. The three enhancement passives of his passives are:

1. Sensory Deprivation – Tosen’s battlefield skills reduce enemies’ Thrust Resistance by 9% for 10 seconds on hit. This effect stacks up to 3 times.
2. Disorienting Soundwave – The 2nd enhancement passive increases the damage of the technique Sting Shadow - Mutual Stab by 75% and the damage of Tsuishiki - Suzumushi Thrust by 75%.
3. Bloodied Justice – While attacking enemies inflicted with Wound, each Wound stack increases Tosen’s Crit Rate by 3%, up to a maximum increase of 24%.

6. Technique – Suzumushi Thrust

Suzumushi Thrust

Tosen and his afterimage each step diagonally backward, gathering enemies. They then dash at the target simultaneously and launch them into the air, dealing damage equal to 124% of ATK and inflicting 2 stacks of Wound.

Tsuishiki - Suzumushi Thrust

Tsuishiki is when Tosen is in his Bankai state where he performs a follow up attack after releasing Suzumushi Thrust, dealing damage equal to 330% of ATK and creating 4 afterimages. The afterimages then attack the enemy alongside Tosen, dealing damage.

7. Ultimate – Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Emma Korogi

Tosen releases his Bankai, generating 9 rings from Suzumushi’s tsuba to form a large realm around him and nearby enemies. The realm pulls the enemies within to the center, dealing damage equal to 900% of ATK and inflicting 5 stacks of Wound. It lasts 10 seconds. While active, Tosen gains all Battlefield skill energy and refreshes his technique cooldown.
