Trunk Character Overview
Trunk is a Tank type Brawler in Brawl Stars, looks like a tree, and controls the area around him through Ant colonies. These ants provide buffs to Trunk and debuffs his enemies. He is a Brawler with Epic rarity and a very high health of ten thousand HP at Power Level 11. His movement speed is also fast at 770 units as the base speed; this speed can be further increased using the buffs provided by the ants. He is one of the fastest Tank Brawlers, which compensates for his short range and variable damage output.
Trunk’s Abilities
We will see two of Trunk’s abilities/attacks, his main attack and his super ability.
Ant Attack
This is the trunk’s main attack. It is a delayed area-effect attack. After a delay of 0.3 seconds, Trunk spins in a circle to damage the enemies in that circular area while dropping ant piles. Enemies that are hit at the edge take higher damage. Enemies behind walls will also be damaged, and the damage is inflicted immediately after the delay. 1200 damage is done to enemies in close proximity at Power Level 6, and at Power Level 11, the damage increases to 3600, due to the increase in the radius of the attacking circle up to 3 tiles.
With every spin, 2 to 4 ant piles will be dropped; these stay for 20 seconds, and not more than six piles can stay active at a time. At Power Level 11, 3 ant piles are dropped with every spin. These piles provide buffs to Trunk if he stands within a distance of 3 tiles from them. His movement speed is increased by 20%, generally going from base 770 to 870 units. The attack delay also reduces to 0.2 seconds from 0.3. Damage by Ant Attack increases by 10% from 1800 to 1980. At power level 11, this damage increases from 3600 up to 3960.
Driven By Revenge (Super Ability)
This is Trunk’s Super Ability. This ability utilizes his movement speed by helping him dash forward and do continuous damage to enemies in the path of his movement, while dropping ant piles. It also enables him to dash over water tiles. He can hit enemies multiple times by bouncing off the walls. The movement speed increases to 3 tiles with each bounce, which helps to defeat moving targets. The damage dealt changes with enemy movement; for stationary targets damage dealt is high, but for moving targets, the damage dealt is reduced. At Power Level 11, damage dealt to every enemy passed by is 2400. To completely charge the Super ability, he must do almost 4 times the damage done at Power Level 11.
Gadgets and Gear
Some of the most effective Gadgets and Gear for Trunk are:
- For the Queen: This is the most used gadget for Trunk. Using this instantly spawns and spreads a large number of ants over a circular area. It helps for instant area control and provides instant buffs. It can be used three times every match with a 7-second cooldown. Highly valuable for area denial and team fights. The area of effect can be increased if used with the super ability.
- Worker Ants: This gadget provides Trunk with a shield that converts 50% of the next damage taken within 2 seconds into healing. It has a cooldown of 15 seconds. It is good to block projectiles, but only one. Block burst attacks and high damage single shots.
- Shield Gear: It helps to sustain more damage and increase durability by providing 900 HP as a shield, which regenerates every 10 seconds. It can be purchased at Power Level 8.
- Health Gear: It helps to recover 50% health per second, which is highly beneficial for Tanking roles.
- Speed Gear: Trunk gets his movement speed from his ant piles, so when away from the piles, this gear helps to maintain the speed.
- Damage Gear: This gear increases Trunk’s damage by 15% when the HP falls below 50%.
- Gadget Charge Gear: It enables Trunk to use a gadget, especially “For the Queen”, an extra time.
Trunk’s Playstyle
- To maximize the use of ant piles, try to use the maximum area around to spread those piles.
- Trunks' attacks hit through walls, use them to approach enemies, and maximize buffs provided by ant piles by staying near the walls.
- While using the ability Ant Attack, hit enemies with the attack’s edge to deal high damage.
- His Super ability helps to use his movement speed better by enabling him to dash faster. Use it to control key areas.
- Effectively use the gadgets and gears to capture key areas. Play near the centre of the map.
- Avoid long-range Brawlers, since they can deal with Trunk’s attacks by maintaining distance.
