The Battle Mode
The Battle mode is an unranked multiplayer mode that is especially designed for players who want to play casually without worrying about the fact that they can lose trophies through failed attacks. This also includes players who want to focus on resource farming by using only goblin based armies.
The matchmaking in the “Battle” mode will be decided on the basis of your current Town hall level and you will be matched with enemies having the same Town hall level as yours. Some exceptions exist like facing a maxed out base or a completely rushed one but the TH level remains unchanged.
Moreover, this unranked mode encourages players to farm as many resources as they want with unlimited attacks daily. But one thing to remember is that as you are getting no limits on your attacks, it would be the same for your enemies and your base will be prone to an endless series of offense. This is where the shield rules shines. Apply these shields to stay protected and want to conserve your collected resources.
Ranked Battles
“Ranked Battle” on the other hand is the new system of ranked matches to push your way through leagues. This is a competitive mode and unlike the “Battle” mode, it is designed for dedicated hardcore players who want to compete against other players in order to show dominance.
The “Ranked Battle” mode will be unlocked once you hit Town Hall level 7 and players will be matched on the basis of their current league progression and how high or low they are in the new league system. For example, if you are someone in Gold I then you will probably be matched with either Gold I or at II but not higher or lower than this. But exceptions remain as Town Hall level 7 can face higher Town Hall level players as the matchmaking is only based upon the league.
Additionally, the “Ranked Battle” will be the only mode which will affect your trophies in the game and the trophy pushing system will be made much more compact and harder due to the limitations on your daily attack and defense capacity. These mechanics now force players to focus on their defense too, which was neglected in the current and past scenarios of the game.
Battle Modifiers
The traditional league systems will be changed and a new feature will be introduced, as battle modifiers and the old League All star achievement will be removed. There has not been much news regarding the difficulty modifiers but they are said to be there, mostly in the high leagues in Ranked mode.
