Clash of Clans Town Hall 18 Update Preview: What’s Coming Next
Our favourite strategy game, Clash of Clans is bringing the heat up this winter. 2025 has been quite a significant year for Clash of clans with the Rank system change, Valkyrie’s climbing back to the meta, and lots of new challenges but Supercell is not satisfied with just that. To take it to a whole new level and end the year with a BOOM, they have decided to make our jaw drop with a brand-new Town Hall level 18 update.
While many are struggling at lower Town halls, some players with Maxed Out Town hall 17 bases are getting bored. This is where TH18 comes to the rescue and kills the boredom to unlock further progression for the players. Along with the TH update, Clash of clans also introduced various new features and updates.

Town Hall 18 - Appearance
The Town Hall 18 features a sturdy stone structure that looks like a cosmic castel with blue energy pulsing through the cracks on its wall. Aside from the seamless classic design, they have also used gold as the secondary colour to enhance its elegance. When upgrading to TH18, players will also see an animation where a mysterious asteroid destroys the village.
Town Hall 18 - Stats
The upgrade time it takes to be upgraded from TH17 is 14 days and it will cost you around 25 Million Gold. TH18 has a hitpoint of 10.8k. The Storage capacity are as follows: Gold: 5 Million Elixir: 5 Million Dark Elixir: 50K
Guardians
Let’s talk about the new defense mechanism of the Town hall which are the Guardians. The New Town Hall doesn’t have a weapon to guard, instead Guardians are there to protect your village. There are two guardians in the game and look wise they are pretty much the same and they both deal splash damage.
Smasher Guardian
The Smasher is a melee type guardian who targets both Ground and air troops. If the enemy destroys the Smasher, it will drop a Rage spell on the village and if he/she destroys the Town Hall first, Smasher will enter the Rage mode.

Longshot Guardian
The Longshot is a Ranged type guardian who also targets both Ground and air troops. The Longshot Guardian explodes if defeated.

The Guardians defend the village in their own unique way and you can switch them anytime. Moreover, they can be upgraded too and during the upgrading process, they won’t defend. But this only applies on Normal attacks and not in Wars and Ranked.
New Troop - Meteor Golem
A new troop called Meteor Golem joins the battlefield with his 4 mighty arms. This troop will be available starting from TH17 at barrack level 19. You can further max him at TH 18, Here are its stats:

New Merged Defense
With the TH18 update, Supercell introduces a brand new merged defense in Clash of Clans, which is the Super Wizard Tower. It is created by combining two Wizard Towers that attacks one a single target and gives out chained damage to 15 more troops.
New Spell
The Totem Spell is the tenth Elixir spell which will unlock at Spell Factory level 9. You can unlock it at TH level 16 and will be maxed out at TH level 18. The totem spell spawns a big tanky Totem on a massive area and affects both ground and air defenses. The spell hits the ground, it lightly damages and stuns the nearby structures for a short duration. The spell only takes on 1 single Housing space and here are the spell stats:

Season 2 of Crafted Defenses
Among the many updates, COC also brings back a Season 2 for the Crafted Defense with a set of new modular defenses. Now, Town Hall 17 players won’t have access to Crafted Defense as TH18 has become the top tier. This season also lasts 4 months, giving players more time to build, optimize, and experiment with different module combinations. Season 2 of the crafted defense features three new Crafted Defenses:
Hero Bell
The Hero Bell boosts defending Hero's Health and damage while standing. These buffs will be removed once the structure is destroyed.
Light Beam
The Light Beam is a single target projectile defence that can target both ground and air troops. Closer targets receive higher damage while the further ones receive lower damage.
Bomb Hive
The Bomb Hive is a bomb launcher that deals splash damage to both ground and air troops through bombs that will travel until it hits the target or goes out of the range.
