Island Gold Rush is a weekly event in Clash of Critters. This is available to players over Level 100. It is a team-based event where your goal is to capture the territory. There will be 4 factions competing to capture the tiles and hold them over the period of 7 days. This event is also one of the main free sources of Glitter Fruits, which are used to transform the Tataris into a rare glitter variant, giving them a different color scheme with a sparkling effect. These are rare because one has only 0.4% chance per fruit to get it. Glitter versions don't change any stats; they are just an aesthetic visual trophy.

Preparation

1. The period before the actual battle is strictly for teaming up. Get three friends because otherwise you’ll be allotted with random players, and as the event requires quite a bit of cooperation to win, we don’t recommend getting random teammates at all.

The rewards are distributed daily after the server reset. Rewards payouts scale up, meaning that the rewards on day Six are much better than on day One.

Start Strong

Once the Battle Begins, try to use as many energy cans as possible because you will be able to get a lot of kills on unoccupied tiles compared to colored ones. Early control is a very strong strategy that will lead to easy wins later. You should rush for the easy tiles as soon as possible.

Getting most kills is essential in occupying tiles, so keep checking the battle log to see how well your tatari did during your attacks.

Adjust Your Tatari

Fight Smart

You should attack when you know you can actually win, and when allies are nearby, avoid solo fights against strong enemy groups. Don't spread yourself too thin just for the sake of expansion; it's smart to have four players attacking a high-value tile rather than four people attacking random tiles.

Team Strategy

Plan your strategy as a team, we’d recommend choosing the roster of Tataris with 1 tank, 1 DPS, and 1 Support. This is because this combination of roster will last the longest in fights, which is very important in Gold Rush; longevity is the key.

1. For Tank use the Tatari in your arsenal with the highest HP/Defense, damage reduction, and Taunt abilities (if they are available). Best ones would be Serrabloom, Boldclaw, Hellhound, and Rockzilla.

2. For DPS, use Tatari with high burst damage and good elemental coverage. Best ones would be Boltallion, Frostique, Frugagon, and Voltmare.

3. For Support use Tataris with high healing, shields, and buffs. We’d recommend Pyropup, Rockhog, Frostnip, and Voltverine as the top priority choices.

Also, plan and communicate which tiles to target, early on (day1-2), you should focus on targeting to expand as much as possible. Target outer edge tiles cause there will be low contest there, areas where no strong team is active, and freshly captured tiles because they will have weak defense. Then later (day3-4), your goal should be to build control and not just expand, so target connector tiles, cluster tiles, and enemy border tiles. In the final days, after building a good territory and defending it, go for the central high-value tiles which will give you most gold. The faster you reach to the earlier stage, the higher will be the chances of you getting the top ranks.

Energy Management (Most Overlooked Trick)

If you want to win, you should never spam fights randomly, wasting energy. You should save energy for key battles and defense pushes; playing in bursts is much more effective than playing continuously. After 20+ attacks, your energy can consumption will start to increase. This is a debuff that limits the spamming of attacks. The debuff resets everyday.

Fight Until the End and Push Hard Before the Final Day

It’s okay if your team is stuck in fourth place on day 2. At that point the game is far from over. If you fight as a coordinated team, use all the tips we have provided, there's always a chance to secure higher spots, especially if you are on the purple team. Purple team is constantly on 4th, mainly because of the surrounding tiles, making the team that can curve the things the most by the final day. Last day is a silent day (no rewards), so grind hard before it and lock in your ranking early.
