The Onslaught Raid is a great way to experience the game. But if you are worried or wondering how to get through the raid easily, we are here to help you. In this guide, we will tell you all about the Onslaught Raid, the best characters to use, and the DPS strats for the raid. Let’s get started!

All About The Gauntlet: Onslaught

The Gauntlet: Onslaught in Destiny: Rising is a step-wise approach to an event. There are a total of three stages within the raid challenge in the game. All of the stages are doable, but things will get progressively harder as you get through the stages. The stages include:

  • The First Encounter - The Break-In
  • The Second Encounter - The Menace Above
  • The Third Encounter - Issakis’s Tabernacle

Furthermore, the raid has a contest mode to keep you active with the event. The contest mode is called Celebration. In the contest mode, you will have a 15-level difference between the monsters and yourself. It is more difficult than the normal events.

The First Encounter - The Break-In

The first stage or encounter of the raid is called the Break-In. For the older players reading this article, this stage is very similar to the Cot’s End Bridge from Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. Likewise, here during this phase, your action is to pick up a buff, go across the bridge, and break the breakers. After completing this, you can proceed to the second half of the raid. Your best characters to play for this phase would be:

  • Attal
  • Gwynn
  • Maru

You can play with any character; you are free to choose which hero to play with in Destiny: Rising. Ensure that for this encounter, focus on handling and impact stats. In the encounter, you will find that it is broken up into two parts. The lower and the upper sides. Your main aim will be to traverse the bridge and shoot the breaker together. This stage of the raid is easy to pass, but ensure that you have a complete presence of mind.

The Second Encounter - The Menace Above

The second stage or encounter of the raid is called The Menace Above. This stage is a bit more difficult when you compare it to the First Encounter - Break In. In this stage, you will have to get the power cells. With the power cells, you can protect yourself from the electricity and take the elevator. Once you turn on the elevator, you can move towards the next part of the raid. For this stage, the best heroes that you can use are:

  • Wolf
  • Gwynn

Again, you can play the raid with any of the heroes available to you. This time, for this stage, ensure that you have decent handling stats. It is never the heroes that can define you; it will be your playing style, so find a hero that works for your style and play the raid. But never forget the main objective. Firstly, you have to disable the barriers around the power cells and enter the code. Then use the power cells to activate the elevator.

The Third Encounter - Issakis’s Tabernacle

The third and the last stage or encounter of the raid is called Issakis’s Tabernacle. As it is the final stage of the raid, it is also the boss battle. In this stage, you will have to destroy the breakers and inflict the most damage to the boss. Once you defeat the boss, you will finish the raid completely. For the final boss battle, use the following heroes:

  • Attal
  • Tan-2
  • Maru

With Destiny: Rising, you are allowed to play with any of the heroes you feel like utilizing. Therefore, if you feel like taking a risk with some other hero, go ahead! But, ensure that you choose and focus on a character who has decent handling and a high DPS. Because in this round, you will need the DPS to destroy the breakers and defeat the boss. You will have to use the canons to destroy the circuit breakers. Once you do that aspect of the stage, you will have to focus on the boss. For the boss battle, focus on the boss’s weak spots.

The Contest Mode - Celebration - Strategies To Clear It Effectively

For the contest mode - celebration, you can play things smart. The best way to start will be by messing around with the team compositions. Preferably, a team of one Estella, one Maru, and four Tan-2. Along with these heroes, you can have an Ikora to balance things out.

Do not have multiple Estellas, as they can cancel out each other’s damage. Gwynn is also a great candidate because she can constantly suppress the boss. As for DPS, the Tan-2 is a go-to. One of them can focus on the healing aspect, while the other can focus on DPS or damage.
