How the Esper Meter Works
The Esper Meter is a small circular icon next to character portraits. Once full, the character's portrait glows bright with energy, a clear prompt that the Esper Ability is ready to cast.

Trio Reactions: Charge, Discord and Stain
Trio Reactions are super-combos. You trigger them by switching through three specific characters in the right order. These are the strongest moves in the game and the secret to beating tough bosses.
Charge
The first combo is Charge, which gives you Unlimited Energy. First, slow the enemy down with one character, then swap to another to summon mini-turrets. When the turrets hit the slowed enemy, your team gets a huge energy boost. This lets you use your strongest Ultimate attacks repeatedly.
Discord
The second combo is Discord, the Boss Killer. Bosses have a white shield bar that makes them hard to hurt. By hitting a boss with a fire-burn and a time-bomb effect at the same time, you trigger Discord. This instantly destroys a big chunk of that shield, knocking the boss down so you can win the fight easily.
Stain
Stain is a weakness mark triggered by swapping between Psyche (Blue) and Lakshana (Gold) characters. It makes enemies take 50% more damage from all your attacks for a short time. For the best results, use Stain right before your Ultimate move to double your power and instantly melt a boss's health bar.
To make these even better, use Passive Buffs. These are hidden powers that work automatically. For example, some characters have passives that make an enemy's shield weaker every time you hit them. Character Passives and How They Stack
Almost every character has a passive Support Skill that boosts the effectiveness of a specific Esper Cycle reaction. These passives are active as long as the character is in your squad, even if they are sitting off field. The passive effects also stack with one another.
Nanally, Jiuyuan and Mint each have their own passive buffs that enhance the blossom reaction from the Anima and Cosmos chain. If they are in your team, all three passives apply even if only one of them triggers the blossom itself.
Jiuyuan spawns one additional Blossom per cycle and increases the cap to six. Nanally deals 10 additional small hits of damage for each Blossom spawned and increases their attack rate.
This means team building goes deeper than just picking adjacent elements. Your fourth slot can silently boost reactions the rest of the team is already running without ever needing to take field time.
The Break Meter and Stagger Windows
Every enemy has a Stagger or Break Meter under their health bar. When the bar is full, the enemy enters a vulnerable state where they cannot move, cannot attack, and take more damage. Building stagger and exploiting weakened enemies is critical. Some characters, like Daffodil, are specialized in Break Damage and are therefore exceptional in boss encounters.
Do not spend Ultimates randomly during a fight. Stack them during the stagger window when the Break Meter is depleted and unload everything at once. That is when the damage ceiling is highest, and every Ultimate lands on a defenseless target.
Mistakes That Kill Your Rotations
