What Are Espers in NTE?

The Player character acts as an Appraiser in the sphere city of Hethereau while exploring an open world and battling the forces, both hostile and not so hostile, throughout the game's storyline. Each playable character possesses special abilities unique to them, known as Esper Abilities, which enhance interactions with other characters within a party. Characters are organized by S-Class rarity or A-Class rarity and further grouped into various elemental categories including Cosmos, Incantation, Chaos, Lakshana, Anima and Psyche.

Zero

The primary hero of NTE, Zero is available to play as either male or female. As the main character of NTE, Zero's role is to investigate the supernatural events happening throughout the city of Hethereau. Being that he is a Cosmos-type damage dealer, he is the "structural" component upon which most (or all) team configurations rely for the early game.

Baicang

An S-Class Incantation Damage dealer with Synthesis wins in arc compatibility. Baicang is unique in that he blends both martial arts including close-ranged physical attacks and long-ranged spell attacks, into a hybrid playstyle. Due to this versatility, Baicang is a preferred choice for players looking to do both prolonged and ranged damage to their opponents.

Nanally

Eibon is an antique store that is home to a lot of outstanding treasures, including the most famous and well-respected family leader in the Bridge District - Nanally Coluccus, who is said to be calming, dignified, generous, determined and one of the most recognized S-Class characters in Lore due to her involvement in numerous high-profile Anomaly containment and nullification efforts.

A-Class Espers

Mint

Mint is found in Containment Unit 2 at Bureau of Anomalous Control and is an A-class character with a lot of energy, optimism and an extensive understanding of Hethereau's people and locations. She is one of the A-class characters with the most lore. In her combat role, she uses two blades to attack enemies and creates tornado-type attacks that damage an area.

Adler

Adler is an A-class Incantation character who has a combat cane and he does damage to all enemies in a group while keeping a near-constant barrier up around him. This ability to create a solid defence has made him a popular character for players looking for survivability while on the front lines.

Haniel

Haniel is an A-Class Psyche character that becomes available after the game has 30 million pre-sign-ups. She is a social media influencer who also delivers around town for Sterry Express and is also the most easily accessible A-class character at launch, who is free-to-play.

Teased Characters

Interestingly enough, both of these characters are expected to join us through a series of post-launch banners. Both of these characters are also very different from one another.

Lacrimosa’s unique ability allows him to turn into a “trash dog” and shoot fire from his mouth at enemies! While Skia can turn into a shadow-wolf, as a lethal fighter does and phase through enemies while damaging them as well.
