It is a character-driven game where players take on the role of a Captain to build a team of powerful characters. Being an RPG game, the playstyle is mostly similar to that of a turn-based RPG gameplay with strategic battles. A core part of the experience is its gacha system, which allows players to summon new characters and build stronger squads over time.

Release Date

Star Savior is set for a global release on March 19, 2026 at 15:00 UTC +9. At the time of writing, we are just 2 hours away from witnessing one of the most elegant waifus in any game.

Gameplay and Story

As mentioned before, Star Saviour is a character driven game and similar to games like Umamusume, the core gameplay revolves around a progression system that is focused on interactive and bonding mechanics. Think of it like a character bond depth system that also unlocks different abilities and strengthens the characters. The characters in Star Saviour are called Saviors and they carry the power of the stars who are on “The Journey” across the universe guided by their Captain who will be You.

Star Saviour Story

Reroll

Reroll is the primary way of obtaining the saviors and before you dive into the story, getting the right units and Arkansas will eventually help you get a smoother progression. If you ask me about what strategy to use, then your main goal should be on Starlight stones and yellow tickets on the bunnygirl Charlotte Pick-up Banner.

Even if you get a single copy or 0-break on a character it is totally fine. Gaining duplicates or Break on characters will act to your benefit in the longer run. For Arkansas you should be using your purple tickets and while rerolling, the goal should be to get at least two T0 Arkanas or one T1 + two T2 Arkanas.

Team Formation

A team in Star Savior consists of 4 characters out of which two should be placed as the frontline in the 1st and 2nd row, while the other will play in the back line at row no.3 and row no.4. The Frontline is meant and best suited to be played by Damage Tanks, Healers and Defender tanks. For the backline, it is important that you have your main DPS and debuffers there. For Free to play players, having only 4 to 8 saviors is a good number. Being a beginner, you shouldn’t focus too much on the quantity but rather prioritise quality.

Another thing to remember is the elemental affinities, the order for them is:

  • Sun>Star>Moon>Sun

  • Order>Chaos

Using the right elemental affinity lineup will always be beneficial. For example, Star affinity is weaker against Sun affinity.

Starlink System

The Starlink system is one of the most important core systems that will help you grow in the game. You need to synchronize the savior level registered in the list with the minimum level of your top 4 Saviors. Instead of leveling 20 characters, you will need to focus on 4 to 6 units in the early game. As the characters are automatically synchronized to match the lowest level among other core units, it significantly reduces resource consumption, accelerates your overall progression and minimizes repetitive grinding.

Equipments

Lastly, equipment is the secondary thing you should be focusing on after the level of your chars as the right equipment is needed to boost your team’s power. Clear the Mainstream Mode Stage 14 as soon as possible and you will unlock the T2 equipment crafting feature.Prioritize using equipment selection boxes received through milestone missions for your four main Starlink characters. While the suggested level for weapons, gloves and armor is +3 or +6, other equipment such as boots, necklace and ring should be your main upgrade priority.
