What Is Echo EXP and Why It Matters? 

Echo EXP is basically how you level up your Echoes. Each Echo has its own level cap which scales with your Union Level and tuning them to match your character level makes a massive difference in how much power they bring to the table. Higher level Echoes give you better stat boosts better ability scaling and more Resonance Energy which fuels your Echo Skills.  

If your Echoes are underleveled you’re missing out on a ton of damage survivability and utility and you’ll feel the gap pretty hard in late-game content like Tacet Fields Tower of Adversity and bosses like the Crownless.

Defeating Tacet Discords 

This is the core method and the one you’ll be doing most consistently. Every time you kill a Tacet Discord it drops Echoes and each one contains Echo EXP. Stronger enemies and elite Discords tend to drop higher level Echoes which come with more base EXP built in.  

If you’re farming for Echo EXP directly you’ll want to prioritize areas where Tacet Discords spawn frequently and in dense groups. You don’t always need to absorb them just pick up the Echoes after they drop and they’ll go into your inventory with their stored EXP value. 

A good farming loop includes places like the Dim Forest and Gorges of Spirit where Tacet Discords are everywhere. Once you’ve cleared a loop just teleport to another area or wait for them to respawn after a short cooldown. You can also hit up elite Discords marked with red skull icons since they drop higher rarity Echoes more often which means more EXP per run. 

Using Echo Recycling 

Once you’ve collected a bunch of Echoes you don’t plan on using you can recycle them for EXP. Just go into the Echo menu select the ones you don’t want and you’ll see an option to recycle or use them as material to level up your main Echoes. This is the most direct way to funnel EXP into your build and it helps clear inventory space too. 

Here’s the thing though don’t blindly recycle every 1-star or 2-star Echo you get. Some of them have useful main stats or might even be part of a set bonus you need for a side character. Always check their abilities before tossing them. But once you know which ones are junk they become prime fuel for your better Echoes. 

Farming with Data Bank Levels 

Your Data Bank level actually affects how much Echo EXP you get because as it levels up you start getting more info on Echo drops and higher level versions of them too. You can increase your Data Bank level by scanning new Echoes and filling out the logbook so it’s worth grabbing even duplicate Echoes if you haven’t filled out their entry yet. 

Reaching higher Data Bank levels also unlocks more powerful Tacet Discords and a better drop rate for higher rarity Echoes which again means more EXP per run. It’s a long-term boost but one that makes a huge difference especially once you're deep into the midgame. 

Use Waveplates for Echo EXP Drops 

You’ll get a few Waveplates per day and these act like stamina for farming limited-resource content. One of the main places to spend them is the Echo Hunting areas where you can spend Waveplates to claim rewards from elite Discords or bosses and those rewards usually include higher rarity Echoes with more EXP. 

If you're serious about Echo farming it’s worth dedicating at least part of your daily Waveplate budget to these activities. Don't burn them all on ascension mats unless you're hard stuck. Echo EXP gives you way more consistent power scaling if your characters are already levelled decently. 

Daily and Weekly Activities 

A more passive but important method is doing your daily and weekly missions. These often reward Echo-related items or even pre-levelled Echoes as part of your progression. It’s not a massive amount but it adds up especially when you’re already farming other things. The Wuthering Waves weekly bounty missions and activity goals often give materials or Echoes that can be recycled or used to build out side units. 

It’s all about that accumulation game. You won’t get thousands of EXP in a single daily but over a week or two it can equal a full level or two on your core Echoes with almost no effort. 

Event and Shop Echoes 

Don’t sleep on events. Sometimes limited-time events hand out special Echoes or give currency that can be used in shops to buy Echo items. These are often more efficient than grinding out wild spawns and some of them come with boosted EXP values baked in.
