About the Game

Absolum is an original side-scrolling roguelite beat 'em up from Playdigious, built by a team known for redefining the genre. The game takes place in Talamh, a fantasy world shattered by a magical cataclysm. In the aftermath, common people learned to fear magic, and Sun King Azra used that fear to seize power. Through his Crimson Order, he enslaves wizards and expands his control over the land. A small group of rebels, guided by the high enchantress Uchawi, rises from hiding to use forbidden magic and challenge Azra's oppressive rule.
As one of these outcast heroes, you fight to reclaim magic from the Sun King. The story frames every run as part of a larger rebellion, and the world reacts to your efforts through atmospheric locations, expressive animation, and a soundtrack led by composer Gareth Coker, known for Ori, Halo Infinite, and Prince of Persia. Additional collaborations with legendary composers deepen the audio identity of Talamh.
Core gameplay and progression Absolum combines traditional arcade beat 'em up combat with roguelite structure. Each run gives you the chance to experiment with new builds, unlock stronger abilities, and adapt your approach to the elite guards standing between you and Azra. World and presentation The adventure moves from the majestic mines of Grandery to the lush forests of Jaroba and beyond. Each area is drawn with detailed art and brought to life through masterful animation. The visual identity supports the fantasy setting without relying on text-heavy exposition, letting the environments and character motion carry much of the story.
Mobile version improvements The mobile release has been carefully redesigned rather than simply ported. It includes a revamped interface with complete touch control, Google Play Games achievements, and controller compatibility.
