The world in Age of Z Origins has been brought to its knees by a rapidly spreading virus that has turned the population into the walking dead. As a commander, your role is not just to survive but to rebuild, expand, and ultimately reclaim what was lost.
The foundation of the game rests on city reconstruction. Rather than starting with a blank plot of land, you fight to reclaim buildings that have already been seized by zombies, clearing them out zone by zone. Survivors hidden throughout the wreckage can be rescued and brought into your growing settlement, boosting your population and workforce. Every structure you restore and every resident you house contributes to a living, functioning city that serves as the base for all your military ambitions. Resource gathering feeds into construction and research, creating a satisfying loop where each decision builds toward something larger.
Army development is one of the game's most layered systems.
