About the Game

BROK the InvestiGator is an ambitious hybrid that fuses traditional adventure game mechanics with side-scrolling beat 'em up action and character progression. Developed by Breton Fabrice, the game places you in a polluted, light cyberpunk world where animals have taken the place of humans. The wealthy live safely inside a protective dome, while everyone else struggles to survive in the contaminated air outside. It is within this divided society that Brok, a private investigator and retired boxer, tries to make a living while raising Graff, the son of his late wife. Her death was ruled an accident, but unanswered questions linger, and new clues suggest the tragedy may be connected to something far larger than Brok ever imagined.
The core loop revolves around how you choose to approach each obstacle. Some players will prefer careful observation, combining clues, and questioning suspects to piece together the truth. Others will opt for a more direct route, using Brok's fighting abilities to punch through enemies and barriers. The game does not force you into a single playstyle. A relaxed mode removes combat entirely, turning the experience into a pure point-and-click adventure where fights can be skipped. Meanwhile, players who enjoy action can level up their characters, unlock new abilities, and take on challenging bosses.
Choice plays a significant role throughout the story. Decisions made during conversations and investigations can alter both the narrative and the gameplay path forward. With multiple distinct endings available, replaying the game reveals new perspectives and outcomes. The story is fully voice acted, featuring more than 23,000 lines of dialogue, and has been translated into ten languages. Two playable characters can be swapped at any time, adding variety to both puzzle solving and combat encounters. Local cooperative play supports up to four players, making it possible to experience the adventure with friends.
Accessibility is a major focus for BROK the InvestiGator. It is the first full-fledged adventure game designed to be fully playable by blind or visually impaired players. Every scene, character, and location is audiodescribed through high-quality text-to-speech. Puzzles have been adapted for accessibility, and all combat and puzzle sections can be skipped. Positional audio assists with fight navigation, and players can repeat the last spoken line or instruction at any time. Additional options include larger fonts and increased contrast for backgrounds and enemies. To access the accessibility menu, press two fingers on the title screen and follow the audio guidance. Note that accessibility narration is currently available in English only.
When it comes to monetization, the first chapter is completely free and offers roughly two to three hours of gameplay. Each subsequent chapter can be purchased individually, or players can choose a premium option to unlock all six chapters at once.
