About the Game

Step into the final, flame-lit years of Japan's Edo period with Bakumatsu Restoration Tenshokeru Koi, a historical romance simulation from Voltage, Inc. that places you at the center of a nation on the edge of transformation. The story begins with a simple but dangerous moment: you, the daughter of a Kyoto tailor harboring a quiet fascination with foreign fashion, accidentally drop a photograph of a faraway country. Discovered by a radical ronin who sees you as a traitor, your life is suddenly thrown into chaos, and the man who steps forward to change your fate is no ordinary stranger. He is one of the legendary figures who will go on to define the Meiji era.
The world of the game is one where love and revolution are inseparable. As you run your tailor's shop amid streets increasingly hostile to foreign influence, you encounter a remarkable roster of historical personalities, each carrying the weight of their era's conflicts. Your relationships with these men unfold across deeply written individual story routes that balance emotional intimacy with the high stakes of a country rewriting itself. The setting gives every romantic encounter an underlying tension: these are people who may not survive the coming years, and that urgency makes each connection feel genuinely meaningful.
One of the game's most celebrated features is its exceptional voice cast, which includes some of the most recognized names in Japanese voice acting:
Ryoma Sakamoto: Yuki Kaji
Shinsaku Takasugi: Tomoaki Maeno
Toshimichi Okubo: Yuichiro Umehara
Yoshinobu Tokugawa: Yoshimasa Hosoya
Souji Okita: Junichi Toki
Sanjo Sanemi: Shinnosuke Tachibana
Taisuke Itagaki: Yuto Uemura
Katsura Kogoro: Yusuke Kobayashi
Takamori Saigo: Daiki Hamano
Kaishu Katsu: Chikahiro Kobayashi
Toshizo Hijikata: Shintaro Asanuma
Tomomi Iwakura: Emi Ogata
Thomas Glover: Wataru Komada
Every character is given a distinct personality and a story arc that weaves personal romance into the broader sweep of historical change. Whether you are drawn to the passionate idealism of Ryoma Sakamoto or the fierce discipline of Toshizo Hijikata, each route offers its own emotional rewards and narrative surprises.
The presentation throughout is polished and visually striking. Character illustrations are crafted with care, capturing both the elegance of period clothing and the emotional nuance of each scene. The combination of high-quality artwork and fully voiced dialogue creates an experience closer to an interactive drama than a conventional mobile game. This is precisely the kind of content that benefits from being played on a larger screen through MuMuPlayer, where every illustration and voiced moment can be appreciated without the constraints of a small smartphone display.
Bakumatsu Restoration Tenshokeru Koi is part of Voltage's broader Boru Koi romance drama series, a collection of story-driven apps designed specifically for women seeking engaging, high-quality love narratives on mobile.
