E.T.E Chronicle imagines a future where the familiar structures of political governance have collapsed under the weight of corporate dominance. In this world, massive conglomerates known as chaebols have claimed the power once held by nations, and competition between them has escalated into open armed conflict. Resources, territory, and technological supremacy are the currencies of survival, and no organization pursues that supremacy more aggressively than the Ygodra Corporation.
The turning point in this fragile world arrived when Ygodra made a discovery that would permanently alter the global order. Deep within near-Earth space, the corporation uncovered the remnants of an extraterrestrial civilization, catalogued under the designation Urd. Alongside physical alien artifacts, researchers identified a completely unknown class of particles that defied all existing scientific frameworks. These were named Delta particles, and their potential was immediately recognized as extraordinary.
What followed was a rapid and decisive military buildup. Leveraging Delta particle technology exclusively, Ygodra developed the Aita, a next-generation extensible tactical exoskeleton that vastly outperformed anything available to rival factions. With Aita units deployed across its forces, Ygodra achieved an overwhelming military advantage that left competing chaebols with no viable counter. To cement this dominance further, the corporation constructed a massive circular orbital platform above the equator, a structure known as Gray City. Armed with strategic weapons and positioned to project force across the globe, Gray City became the ultimate symbol of Ygodra's ambition.
The threat posed by Gray City proved too significant to ignore. Rival chaebols, recognizing that their individual survival depended on collective action, formed a united front called the Human Alliance. What followed was a costly and brutal conflict that pushed both sides to their limits. The Human Alliance ultimately prevailed in the campaign against Gray City, crippling the orbital station, but the victory came at enormous sacrifice. More critically, Ygodra's core strength remained largely intact despite the defeat.
A critical breakthrough for the Human Alliance came during the war itself. Alliance forces managed to capture a unique asset, an artificial life form designated 01, which had been engineered by Ygodra using biological and technological knowledge derived from the Urd alien remains. This capture gave the Alliance its first real foothold in understanding Delta technology. Using what they learned, Alliance scientists developed their own Delta-based systems and produced their own line of Aita exoskeletons, finally breaking Ygodra's exclusive grip on this transformative technology.
