Set within the real boundaries of Ishinomaki City in Miyagi Prefecture, i.get.ishinomaki.aya is a 2D role-playing game that weaves together local legend, natural scenery, and a character-driven narrative into a single expansive adventure. Unlike most mobile RPGs that draw from fantasy worlds with no real-world grounding, this game uses an actual Japanese city as both its canvas and its inspiration, giving the experience a sense of place that is rare in the genre.
The story begins long before the player arrives. According to local lore passed down through the game's world, a revered figure known as the Great Saint once traveled to Ishinomaki and fell in love with its people and climate. He left behind a sacred text called the Great Scriptures, a collection of illustrated tales that brought joy, laughter, and courage to the people who read them. Under the protection of these stories, Ishinomaki flourished for generations.
When the time comes to establish a new settlement within the region, the challenge proves daunting. Clearing the land is difficult, dangerous, and labor-intensive, and attracting enough people to make it work requires reaching beyond the city's borders. A recruitment call goes out, and it catches the eye of a young wizard living in a distant capital. He is inexperienced in combat and still developing his magical abilities, but a quiet promise made in his childhood pulls him toward Ishinomaki anyway. What he finds there changes everything.
