About the Game

KOMPETE is not a single game. It is a growing multiplayer platform that brings several complete game experiences together under one unified system, all rendered in a photorealistic art style powered by Unreal Engine 5. Developed by Modernize Games and available free-to-play, KOMPETE is designed so that every mode feels like a standalone product while still contributing to a larger connected world. The platform is currently in Early Access and includes three active game modes, with more on the way as the team continues to expand and refine the experience based on player feedback.
At the core of KOMPETE is the Player Builder system, which lets you define how your character performs across all game modes. Rather than being locked into a default playstyle, you assign attributes and traits that reflect how you want to compete, whether that means building for aggression, endurance, or utility. This system applies across every mode on the platform, giving your choices meaning no matter which game you load into. Combined with cross-progression, your builds and advancement carry over across all devices, so nothing is lost when you switch platforms.
The three current game modes each bring something distinct to the platform:
Blitz Royale is a battle royale built for speed. Matches wrap up in under ten minutes, and the format is designed to keep intensity high from start to finish. Players equip exosuits that allow wall-scaling and movement boosts, fundamentally changing how you approach positioning and combat. Drone-deployed spawn items let you set up protective or mobility advantages mid-match, and a squad redemption mechanic gives eliminated players a path back into the fight if their teammates hold on long enough.
Kart Race brings competitive kart racing with a full suite of tools to disrupt and outpace your opponents. Nitro boosts create opportunities for critical overtakes, while drifting rewards skilled cornering with a competitive edge. Offensive and defensive weapons let you target rivals or shield yourself from incoming attacks, and utility power-ups add another layer of strategic decision-making. Tracks vary in layout and introduce hazards such as ramps, oil slicks, and barriers that keep every race unpredictable.
Social Deduction is a role-based deception game where three factions pursue conflicting goals simultaneously. Thugs work to sabotage and eliminate others without being caught. Guards carry weapons and are tasked with identifying and stopping the Thugs while keeping Civilians safe. Civilians focus on completing objectives and surviving, with no combat tools to rely on. The tension between these roles creates a dynamic where reading other players and managing trust becomes just as important as any mechanical skill.
Proximity Chat runs across the platform, enabling voice communication that responds to where you are physically located in the game world. This keeps conversations relevant and adds a layer of realism to coordination and social interaction that text-based systems cannot replicate.
