About the Game

Legionbound is a retro party-based RPG from Spicy Garlic Games that takes the familiar structure of classic fantasy classes and throws it into modern autobattler combat. The result is a game where you are not fine-tuning a small party of four, but instead assembling a traveling pile of questionable decisions that can grow to ridiculous proportions. Every run asks the same question: how long can your legion hold together when enemies pour in wave after wave?
At the heart of Legionbound is the freedom to field up to 50 heroes at the same time. The roster includes 42 unique classes, each with its own Synergy subclass that changes how it performs. From there, proven heroes can be combined into more than 800 possible Ascension classes, giving you an enormous amount of room to experiment. The goal is not just to collect heroes, but to discover combinations that turn a disorganized mob into a functioning war machine.
Combat runs automatically, but Legionbound is far from a passive experience. Your decisions shape every battle. You can reposition heroes between combat rows to control who takes the hits, cast unlockable spells at critical moments, and purchase passive items that alter how your army behaves. Building around the skills and class combinations you discover is what separates a strong legion from a pile of corpses. Raw numbers alone will not save you.
Legionbound offers two distinct ways to play. Adventure Mode is a roguelite journey across a variety of maps, each with its own challenges, modifiers, and rewards. As you progress, you construct buildings with powerful passive effects and strengthen your party over multiple battles. Eventually, you must face the Endbringer in a final confrontation, but you can also choose to loop back to the beginning and keep building your power before taking on that fight.
Battle Mode takes a different approach. These are endurance runs where the only goal is to survive for as long as possible. You recruit heroes during the run, discover Synergy subclasses, collect items, defeat bosses, and push your build until it finally snaps under the pressure. Progress in this mode unlocks new heroes and battlefields, giving you more tools for future attempts.
Even when your legion falls, your progress continues. Between runs, you earn skill points and unlock permanent roguelite bonuses through an expansive skill tree. The tree can be freely respecced at any time, so you are never locked into a single strategy. If one approach fails, you can rebuild your entire progression path and try something completely different.
