At its core, Fig works by learning how you eat. You start by building your personal dietary profile, choosing from over 2,000 individual ingredients, allergens, and dietary patterns that you want to avoid or follow. The app then uses that profile to instantly evaluate any product you encounter, either by scanning its barcode or browsing through the in-app product catalog. Results are displayed as a simple color-coded rating: green means the product fits your needs, yellow signals a potential concern worth reviewing, and red indicates something in the product conflicts with your dietary profile. When a product does not work for you, Fig does not just stop there. It actively suggests alternative products that do match, so you always have options.

You can browse products that are compatible with your specific profile across more than 100 grocery store catalogs, making it easy to discover new products you might never have considered. Shopping lists can be created directly within the app, giving you a streamlined way to plan your purchases before you ever leave home.
