Dunk City Dynasty Super League Guide - Manager Mode vs Control Mode Explained

Jun 5, 2026

To expand street basketball culture, Dunk City Dynasty has introduced the Super League Mode in Season 6. We usually play 3 or 5-player matches, but in Super League the games are more competitive. We build teams, manage players, develop them, and compete throughout the season.

In this League, we get Manager Mode and Control Mode as two different ways of playing that change the game completely. We do not focus only on skills and reflexes, but now we also focus on strategic team management and decision-making throughout the season. Both these new modes have created two different competitive environments for us players. Depending on our playstyle, we can select between any of the two modes.

This guide will explain how the Super League works, the difference between the two modes, and which option is best for different types of players.

Understanding the Super League

Sunk City Dynasty became popular because of the quick matches, but Super League is different from it. We do not enter a game and start competing immediately. In Super League, we control a basketball organization for the entire season. Super League is available after reaching Level 15. Every league contains sixteen players, who draft, train, recruit, and develop players for the complete season.

There is a standard structure in the Super League that includes the preseason games, regular-season contests, playoff games, and friendly matches. Every team needs to follow this structure. The top eight teams make it to the playoffs after the end of the regular season. We get a Super League winner after the best-of-three rounds of the playoffs. If we finish in the top eight at the end of the season, we also get a promotion to the next league tier. And when we are unavailable, the matches can auto-play; this prevents the entire season from going to waste. Choosing between Manager Mode and Control Mode becomes very important in Super League as it focuses heavily on team building.

Manager Mode

The core concept behind Manager Mode is running the bench. This removes us from the court. In this mode, we do not control any player directly; we work purely as a coach. Our job is to set a strategic framework before the games, call timeouts during live games, make substitutions, and give coach messages to change our team’s in-game behavior when they need motivation and momentum. This converts Dunk City Dynasty into a proper basketball management system. In the pregame preparations, we decide the playstyle for our team, manage defense, and the starting lineup for the matches. The main roles of players in Manager Mode are:

  • Deciding which players fit together in a team.

  • Deciding what type of rotation to use.

  • Making substitutions on time.

  • Making tactics to counter the opponents.

  • Allocating resources for player development.

Manager Mode is best for those players who like to think like a coach instead of feeling like an athlete. It focuses more on strategy, building a line-up, long-term team management, and reduced pressure during live matches. If we want to experience the role of an NBA coach, Manager Mode is perfect for us.

Control Mode

The core concept behind Control Mode is Full command of the court. It gives the traditional Dunk City Dynasty gameplay experience. Every player controls their athletes on the court and executes every pass, jump, dunk, offensive, and defensive move. Good results in Control Mode depend on basketball skills such as shooting accuracy, defensive positioning, passing and dribbling skills, and proper timing.

This mode is rewarding for those who have mastered the in-game controls and those who understand the advanced gameplay mechanics. In Control Mode, we are acting as both the coach and player. We manage our own line-up and training outside the court; inside the court, our own skills affect the result completely. The main benefits of Control Mode are:

  • Direct decision and influence over every player.

  • More engaging gameplay.

  • Provides a good chance to players with good basketball skills.

  • Better experience from the games.

This mode is suitable for players with good basketball skills, because poor reaction speed, missed shots, or mistakes in defense can quickly lead to losing matches.

Building the Roster/Team

Building a good team in Super League is a very important part. Building a strong roster is equally important for both Manager and Control Mode. Understanding team-building skills is the first skill required for both modes.

There are six different ways to bring a player into our Super League team. Auction, Trade Market, Scouting Players, Player Spotlight, Player Connection, and Drafting are those six ways. Every method has a different purpose depending on the strategy. Trade Market is the most competitive because we compete against other managers directly inside our league. Bidding at auctions requires strategy to get premium players. And with experience, we can get good and cheaper options through Scouts and Drafts. If we overspend, we lose resources and can’t get strong players later on. So, having a good strategy is a must while building a strong team.

Once we get a player, we should start developing them immediately and progress them through training. A developed and well-trained player is the main part of building a strong team that excels in both Manager Mode and Control Mode.
