Roblox Brookhaven RP Beginner’s Guide - Starter Tips, Jobs, Houses & Progression

Mar 27, 2026

Brookhaven RP happens to be one of the most played games for a reason. It might not have quests or enemies to fight. The whole point it to come up with your story. If you are used to games telling you what you need to do or where to go, this is not one of those affairs. Set in a suburban town, you pick a house, and select a role. Players can also choose a car before building the life of their choosing.  It can feel a bit weird with completely free reign but the freedom is unbeatable.

What is Brookhaven?

Brookhaven RP is a sandbox role-play scenario. You are dropped into town with public buildings, vehicles, houses and other players. There is no XP bar, or combat system or required milestones. The next action is entirely up to the player. So you can decide to live out a family setting or to run a police role play. Alternatively, you can hang out with friends or just cruise on the map in a vehicle. The game also runs of great creativity and social interactions.

The First Steps after Spawning

When you join the server, the character will spawn in town. Before starting anything, please get your bearings. Brookhaven’s has a great many locations to visit and interact with. These include hospitals, schools, and police stations. Each of these is a backdrop for role-play settings as opposed to functioning gameplay. You can use the mini map in the corner for navigation purposes. There is no right or wrong way to do things.

The Menu is your Friend

If directions are your thing, you do not have to walk around looking for an NPC to talk to. Everything you want is on the menu. To access it, press the M key or tap the Roblox icon located in the top left corner. The menu is the command center so you will be using it on a regular basis. Consider tabs like Houses, Avatar, Vehicles and Moods.

Getting a House

To claim your first house, open the Menu M, go to the Houses tab and click the available options. You can claim an empty plot and choose the house style or alternatively move into one of the prebuilt apartments that have been placed around the town. Majority of the houses in Brookhaven are also free. The exception though is larger or more unique types of properties, which require a paid game, pass.

Once you have gotten a lot, go inside the house and click the backpack icon to open the furniture and decoration type menu. Then you can set beds, kitchen items, sofas, lighting and plants. You may arrange it according to presence. Some houses also come with hidden rooms or secret passages. Other players may visit and it is usually where role-play scenarios actually play out, especially family, roommate and party style role playing.

Choosing a Job

Jobs in Brookhaven are typically not income generating careers. They are role-play categories, which give themed tools and define how you would interact with the other players. To pick one, click on the character customization button on the right side of the screen, before clicking on the clipboard icon. There is a list of available options like doctor, police officer, firefighter, teacher or criminal. There are others also like parent, business owner or others. You are not locked according to one choice. Picking a job is not required but it offers the session a purpose and makes it easier to connect with other players.

Vehicles

Vehicles can be spawned at any time by clicking on the icon on the right side of the screen. This opens a menu with motorcycles, cars and bicycles. Most are also available for free. The premium players will get access to additional cars and adjust the speed setting. Vehicles are not just for getting around. They form part of the experience.

How Progression Works

Brookhaven does not use the traditional progression system. Almost everything including vehicles, houses, jobs, and furniture is available from the beginning. What changes over time is how you adapt to the role-playing and knowledge of the map. Players that have been around for a while tend to know where the hidden rooms are, the houses with the best layouts for scenarios and how to set up the scene. If you have to spend on the play, robux may be used to purchase game passes unlocking premium houses. None of these is necessary though to enjoy the game. They are extras for players that want more variety.

Tips for Gameplay

There are a few things, which can make the game more enjoyable. One is using a private server. If you want a controlled type of setting, there are private servers free in Brookhaven. You and your friends can play without random players joining. Another is matching the avatar to your role. It sounds obvious but it makes the role-play more immersive. Check for secret areas in the house also. Some properties have rooms behind the bookshelves or hidden doors.

Conclusion

Brookhaven is not a game you advance through levels and fight the final boss. There is no reward also for putting in hours. The thing that will keep you coming back is that every session experience is different depending on whom you choose to be. One session you are engaged in a police chase, another you are hanging out with family. The basics are just simple enough to pick up quickly. Everything else from the layouts to hidden rooms have to be learned naturally through play.
