The Zen Event in Grow a Garden was released on 19th July. It is one of the biggest updates ever in Roblox. What Is the Zen Event? 

In this new update, there is a Zen Event every hour, and it lasts for about 10 minutes. During these events, Japanese maple leaves fill the sky alongside white cloud streaks, and one of your fruits will get the “Tranquil Mutation” effect about every 30 seconds. When this happens, the sale value of your affected fruits increases by 20 times and you can see a glowing white bubble with Japanese characters. You can then convert these Tranquil fruits into Chi Points, which is the event’s premium currency. You can track the next event using the timer located behind Unk the Monk in the event hub. It is a useful feature because these events take place even when you are offline. 

The Tranquil Mutation & Chi Currency 

Tranquil fruits are very important if you want to progress in the Zen Event. When you harvest these fruits, you get two choices. Either you can give them to the Zen Channeler and get Zen to upgrade your tree, or you can trade them with an NPC called Tanuki and get Chi points. The amount of Chi points you get from your fruits depends on their rarity. Here is the Chi breakdown based on rarity: 

• Common: 1 
• Uncommon: 2 
• Rare: 3 
• Legendary: 4 
• Mythical: 5 
• Divine: 6 
• Prismatic: 7 
• Transcendent: 8 

If your fruit has a Gold or Rainbow mutation then you get some bonus Chi (+2 for Gold and +4 for Rainbow). 

Growing the Zen Tree 

One of the central features of the update is the Zen Tree, located behind Unk the Monk in the event hub. By submitting Tranquil fruits to the Channeller, you contribute towards Zen Tree levels, which unlock chronological milestones. The Zen Tree has eight stages. In each stage you will unlock new items and get bonus rewards: 

1. Stage 1 (40 Chi) 
2. Stage 2 (60 Chi) - unlocks Zenflare seed 
3. Stage 3 (90 Chi) - unlocks Zen Crate 
4. Stage 4 (130 Chi) - unlocks Soft Sunshine seed 
5. Stage 5 (180 Chi) - unlocks the Koi pet 
6. Stage 6 (245 Chi) - unlocks Zen Gnome Crate 
7. Stage 7 (325 Chi) - unlocks Spiked Mango seed 
8. Stage 8 - unlocks Pet Shard: Tranquil 

Each milestone also rewards things like Chi, seed packs, elves, crates, and Zen Eggs. 

Zen Shop & Available Items 

Tranquil Treasures, the Zen Shop located near Tanuki NPC, sells event-exclusive items that you can purchase only with Chi. The shop stocks a rotating inventory every hour but can be manually restocked using Sheckles. 

Initial Shop Items (Stage 0 unlocks): 

• Zen Seed Pack - 12 Chi 
• Zen Egg - 30 Chi 
• Hot Spring cosmetic - 30 Chi 
• Zen Sand cosmetic - 15 Chi 
• Tranquil Radar - 18 Chi 

Subsequent unlocks (via Zen Tree): 

• Zenflare seed - 6 Chi (Stage 2) 
• Zen Crate - 15 Chi (Stage 3) 
• Soft Sunshine seed - 20 Chi (Stage 4) 
• Koi pet - 45 Chi (Stage 5) 
• Zen Gnome Crate - 75 Chi (Stage 6) 
• Spiked Mango seed - 75 Chi (Stage 7) 
• Pet Shard: Tranquil - 200 Chi (likely Stage 8) 

You will primarily earn Chi from converting Tranquil fruits, but growing the Zen Tree also grants bonus Chi. 

New Seeds, Pets, and Cosmetics 

Seeds 

• Zen Seed Pack includes chance-based rare seeds (e.g., Monoblooma, Serenity, Taro Flower, Zen Rocks, Hinomai, Maple Apple). 
• Shop-exclusive: Zenflare, Soft Sunshine, Spiked Mango. 

Pets 

Mandated through the Zen Egg and the shop: 

• Zen Egg hatch possibilities (from rare to prismatic odds): Shiba Inu, Nihonzaru, Tanuki, Tanchozuru, Kappa, Kitsune. 
• Koi pet purchasable at Stage 5. 
• Tanchozuru, a bird pet that enhances Tranquil mutations, can appear in-world or via eggs. 

Cosmetics and Tools 

Japanese-themed cosmetics: Hot Spring, Zen Sand, Zen Radar, Zen Gnome Crate items like Temple Lamp, Bamboo Fence, etc. 

Pre-Show Events & New Weather 

Before the Zen Update, a typical in-game pre-show took place featuring chaotic admin-driven weather events - Disco, Blackhole, JandelZombie Brains - performed by Jandel. Other new weather events include Radioactive Carrot, which can trigger a mutation, as well as Armageddon and Crystal Beam. These effectively mark the event launch. 

Strategy & Tips 

• Focus on farming the most valuable fruit types (Legendary and above) during Zen Aura to maximize Chi gains. 
• Decide whether to allocate Tranquil fruits towards Chi (to buy items) or Zen Tree progression (to unlock future shop content). 
• Prioritize subscribing to higher Zen Tree stages early to access key items like Soft Sunshine, Koi, Spiked Mango, and Pet Shard: Tranquil. 
• Watch for rare pet hatches (like Kitsune, with a mere 0.08% hatch chance) when opening Zen Eggs. 
• Use Tranquil Radar to locate mutation fruits during Aura events. 
• Restock the shop with Sheckles if you want preferred items before rotation.
