StarSavior PvE Team Composition Guide - Best Frontline & Backline Setups for Every Mode
When it comes to creating an appealing team in StarSavior PC, the goal is about placing the strongest players into the best formation - typically four slots: two Front Line, two Back Line. These slots are determined by whether or not your team will absorb damage, whether or not they will deal damage and lastly if you will survive long enough to win.
Proper placement can allow even an all mid-level Saviors roster to outperform expectations, while poor placement can result in your best damage dealers dying before a single Ultimate enables them to attack. This guide outlines how to build teams for PvE through each role, each element and every mode.

Understanding the Formation System
StarSavior uses a four-column grid where Columns 1 and 2 are reserved for the Front Line, which is best suited for Tanks, Healers and Damage Tanks. Columns 3 and 4 of the grid are where the Back Line will reside and will house your main DPS Dealers and Debuffers. The actual makeup of the Front and Back Lines is not only an aesthetic characteristic but also has significance on how the characters are targeted.
Frontline’s Different Roles and Who You Should Use
There are three main roles of the Frontline in PvE and you will need to choose one based on the type of PvE content that you are playing.
-
Damage Tank: A Damage Tank absorbs damage while dealing consistent damage back to their opponent. Emilly is by far, the best pick for this position due to how well she performs with manual controls. Lacy also has a unique ability because she gets stronger as she takes damage, which allows her to scale with an enemy's aggression.
-
Healer Tank: Generally, for longer fights (particularly against a boss), you will need to rely on a Sustain Anchor to keep the members of your team alive between burst windows. Asherah: Waltz of Starlight, Frey, Serpang and Elisa are the best examples of Healers Tank abilities on the Frontline.
-
Debuff Tank: Charlotte can reduce the ATK Power of enemies with her ultimate ability, making her a very effective frontliner in boss encounters because of the importance of managing incoming damage.
The Backline: Roles and Best Picks
The backline performs the offensive duties on your team and you need to build your backline with at least one DPS that can deal damage reliably to enemies and ideally another team unit that can enhance the dealer's damage or weaken the enemy defense.
-
Single Target DPS - In the backline, the best dealers for single target content are Bunnygirl Charlotte, Bunnygirl Claire, Tanya and Bell Rhys. Bunnygirl Charlotte is unique because she is able to give every Sun ally one Ignition stack every turn. This means she allows mono-Sun teams to perform to their maximum potential.
-
AOE Dealer - To clear the wave for events such as story stages and farming content you will require AOE dealers. Dana, Omega, Lacy and Bunnygirl Scarlet are equally capable of being your AOE Dealers with Bunnygirl Scarlet additionally providing you a slowdown on enemies through her AOE slow.
-
Defensive/Speed Reduction - The Debuff dealers within the backlines of your formations will weaken the defenses of your enemies and allow your carriers the ability to do maximum damage. Lugh, Petra, Lydia and Seira are some of your top backline options for reducing the defense and speed of your enemies.
Element Based Team Setups for Every Mode
The unique element system in StarSavior allows players to find a new level of optimization. The advantage cycle works as follows - Sun beats Star, Star beats Moon, Moon beats Sun, Order beats Chaos and Chaos beats Order. Match your team's element to the enemy's weakness for best results.
Team Setups are based on element types for the multiple bosses in StarSavior.
-
Solar Party: Muriel, Emilly, Serpang and Petra (for Sun bosses) - Muriel gets bonus crit damage from her passives and has an ultimate that detonates their Ignition stacks.
-
Moon Party: Lugh, Emilly, Elisa and Asherah (for Moon bosses) - Balanced composition of front-line survivability and back-line debuffing pressure for Waltz of Starlight.
-
Star Party: Dana, Emilly, Frey and Tanya (for Moon bosses) - Dana provides area damage output while Frey can heal. Thus, maintaining a steady state through multi-wave content.
-
Order Party: Muriel, Emilly, Asherah (for Chaos bosses) - Plays well in structured boss fights where debuff time is an important consideration.
-
Chaos Party: Muriel, Lacy, Elisa and Lydia (for Order bosses) - Lacy's front-line commits paired with Lydia's ability to strip defenses allows for optimal use of chaos element on order elemental enemies.
Roster Management and Investment
It’s just as critical to know which Saviors to build, as it is to know what Saviors to build. Having an excess of Saviors will detract from the overall strength of your core team and therefore should not be done. F2P players should aim for an investment of 4 - 8 Saviors on average.Your Roster should contain 4 - 6 Saviors that you fully invest in (through leveling up, resonance, ranging and arcana) instead of attempting to spread your resources out over a large bench of unequipped units.

Conclusion
The core concept of winning PvE (Player versus Environment) in StarSavior is to effectively place "tough" units in front and "powerful" units behind while ensuring a matching element against your enemy. An example would be a Charlotte in the Front Line to reduce the amount of ATK done by your enemy and a Bunnygirl Charlotte or Muriel in the Back Line to detonate Ignition stacks. This synergy will facilitate completion of content through all levels within the game if Primary Strategy is used effectively when farming story stages, fighting elemental bosses or attempting Hard Mode. You will always have control of the fight (the Front), you will explode (the Back) and you will have the advantage of Element through all levels of fighting.
