Pokemon TCG Pocket - Best Crobat EX Deck Guide
After the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Seas and Sky, players have formed different types of Decks according to their playstyle with the help of the newly introduced 241 cards. Among all other Decks, one of the most powerful and consistent Deck archetypes is Crobat EX. It is an attacker with high speed and efficiency. It requires less energy for its moves and has high HP. Its high speed makes it beneficial to win ranked battles in Pokémon TCG Pocket. With its attack, it deals poison-type damage over many turns.
Crobat Ex forms an excellent synergy with Sylveon, which makes this Deck highly consistent. The basic principle behind the success of this Deck is to get Crobat EX as early as possible, use its poison ability to pressurize the opponents, and stop the opponents from producing counterplays by using Hand Disruption. This guide will help players build and utilize the Crobat EX Deck effectively, using proper strategies in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Core Cards
Some cards are necessary to form this Deck. These cards provide support and help in disrupting the enemies. The required cards are:
- Two Crobat EX
- Two Zubat
- Two Nihilego
- Two Sylveon EX
- Two Eevee
- Two Dark Pendant
- Two Professor’s Research
- Two Poke Ball
- Two Poison Barb
- Two Rare Candy
- One Darkrai EX
- One Mars
- One Red Card
- One Cyrus
Now we will discuss some of the Core and Support cards and their usage in the deck.
Crobat EX
Crobat EX is the main attacker of the Deck and a powerful card. It holds 170 HP and deals high damage of 70 with its main attack, Venomous Slash, by consuming only one Darkness Energy. This attack leaves the enemy Pokémon poisoned, which deals an extra 10 damage. Due to its very high HP, opponents can’t easily knock it out with a single hit, making it highly valuable.
Eevee
Eevee is a good starter Pokémon, as it helps in finding Sylveon faster by using its Find a Friend ability. This helps to find Sylveon directly from the Deck, which makes the drawing process consistent.
Darkrai EX
After Crobat EX starts to weaken, Darkrai EX acts as the backup attacker with Dark Prism, which also acts as a damage amplifier. Its ability, Nightmare Aura, uses a Dark Energy attached to it to deal 20 damage to the opponent’s active Pokémon. Dark Prism deals high 80 damage for two Darkness and one colourless energy.
Sylveon EX
Sylveon EX uses its “Happy Ribbon” ability to provide draw power. Players can draw 2 cards when they play Sylveon EX from their hand to evolve one of their Pokémon. Using this ability, the deck mainly focuses on getting two consecutive Crobat EX by drawing into all the available pieces. This ability keeps players full of options and increases their chance of finding an important evolution card. It deals 70 damage using Fairy Wind.
Nihilego
It belongs to the poison amplification class that focuses on maximizing damage through applying poison. Using New Wave, it poisons opponents' Pokémon and deals 30 damage. Nihilego uses its ability “More Poison” to poison opponents' active Pokémon and increase poison damage from 10 to 20 for every turn, in short doubling the passive damage output. Players should carefully use Nihilego since losing it means sacrificing an important EX Pokémon.
Rare Candy
Rare Candy is a Trainer Card that is highly important for accelerating the evolution of Zubat to Crobat EX. Early evolution of Zubat into Crobat EX is significant early in the game, with proper timing using Rare Candy. The second-stage evolution of Zubat is Golbat. Using a Rare Candy, this step is skipped, and it directly evolves into Crobat EX. Getting Crobat early gives it more potential as the main attacker.
Dark Pendant
Dark Pendant is a trainer card and is used as a Pokémon Tool. It is best used with Crobat EX. If the Pokémon this card is attached to is in the active spot and is damaged by an attack from your opponent’s attack, then your opponent needs to reveal a card from their hand and shuffle it into their Deck, thus they’ll lose a random card in their hand.
Poison Barb
Poison Barb is another Trainer card and is used as a Pokémon Tool. This is best synergized with Darkrai EX. If the Pokémon this card is attached to is your active Pokémon and if it is damaged by an attack from your opponent's Pokémon, the attacking Pokémon gets poisoned.
Professor’s Research
It is a Trainer card and is used as Support. This is used to draw 2 cards, which helps to refresh a weak hand.
Poke Ball
It is a Trainer card. Using this item puts a random basic Pokémon from your Deck into your hand.
Red Card
It is a Trainer card and a classic disruption tool. Using this item forces your opponent to shuffle their hand into their deck and draw only 3 cards, which helps to break the momentum of the opposing player.
Cyrus
Cyrus is a good support card. It switches in one of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon that is already damaged to the active spot, which makes it easy to finish it off.
Game Strategy
- Players should first focus on getting Crobat EX early in the game to utilize its high damage with poison.
- Players should use Eevee to find Sylveon EX and evolve it to maximize the card-drawing potential.
- If players start with Zubat, they should focus on getting Rare Candy and evolving into Crobat EX.
- When reaching the midgame, players should focus on Bench management, Energy management, and Hand Disruption Tools become important as well.
- Using Potions can provide additional HP and prevent the main attacker from being knocked out.
