MuMu stops responding while loading or freezes at 98%

When running MuMuPlayer, some users may encounter the emulator freezing at 98% during startup. Users experiencing this issue may refer to the following steps:
I. First-Time Installation
The following CPU models are incompatible with MuMuPlayer:
AMD Athlon series, AMD Phenom series, AMD Sempron series, AMD FX series, AMD A-series (A4~12, e.g., A8-5500), Intel Xeon L-series.
II. Non-Routine Operations
Emulator data corruption caused by non-routine operations (e.g., system restarts, power outages) during emulation may prevent recovery via backups. Reinstall the emulator after uninstalling it.
III. Occasional Freezes at 98%
Some Intel devices may experience random crashes. Try restarting the emulator multiple times or contact customer support via the official Discord server.
IV. Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  • Check Memory Overclocking

If you overclocked your RAM, reset the memory frequency to default in BIOS, save changes, and restart the system.

  • Verify Windows User Permissions

Strict permissions may block write access to directories. Navigate to C:\Users\, right-click .MUMUVMM, go to Properties > Security, and grant full control.

  • Check MuMu Shared Folder Registry Value

Third-party software may corrupt the registry path for shared folders:Open Registry Editor and navigate to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell FoldersModify the value of Personal to C:\Users\<Username>\Documents (replace <Username> with your Windows account name).Uninstall and reinstall the emulator.

Please note that the user name is the user who is logged on to the Windows device of the current machine, such as the current user is Zhang San, then enter zhangsan, the specific user name can be viewed in the Users/Users folder under the path of the C disk

  • Run PowerShell Repair Command

Open PowerShell as Administrator.Execute: cd "C:\Program Files\MuMuVMMVbox\Hypervisor" .\comregister Restart the emulator after completion.

  • Run MuMuVMMSVC.exe

Navigate to C:\Program Files\MuMuVMMVbox\Hypervisor, double-click MuMuVMMSVC.exe, and restart the emulator.If issues persist, run it as Administrator.

  • PowerShell Repair with SupInstall.exe

In PowerShell (as Administrator), run: cd "C:\Program Files\MuMuVMMVbox\Hypervisor" .\SupInstall.exe Restart the emulator after completion.

  • Repair Oleaut32 Registry Entries

Corrupted Oleaut32 registry entries may cause failures. Manually set the following paths to C:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{00020424-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}\InprocServer32
