How to resolve the issue where Hyper-V cannot be disabled after upgrading Windows 11 to version 24H2?

After upgrading to Windows 11 24H2, Hyper-V may remain enabled due to Microsoft's default activation of Device/Credential Guard, which relies on Hyper-V's virtualization-based security features. This can cause compatibility issues with emulators. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Visit Microsoft's official download page for the Device Guard and Credential Guard hardware readiness tool. Extract the downloaded ZIP file to a blank folder on your desktop.

Step 2:  Right-click the Start Menu, select Terminal (Admin) for Windows 11 or Windows PowerShell (Admin) for Windows 10, and ensure the Shell running in the terminal is PowerShell.

Step 3: Open the extracted folder, click the address bar at the top of the window, copy the full path, then type cd followed by a space in the terminal or PowerShell, paste the copied path, and press Enter to navigate to the  target directory.

Step 4: After switching to the directory, enter the following command and press Enter:

  .\DG_Readiness_Tool_v3.6.ps1 -Disable

Note: Some users may encounter the error "The term cannot be recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or executable program" when running the above command. Please refer to the steps below:

1. Enter set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned and press Enter.
2. Type A and press Enter.
3. Enter get-ExecutionPolicy and press Enter. If the output shows RemoteSigned, proceed to Step 4 again.

Step 5: After completion, close the Terminal or PowerShell and save all open files. Restart your PC.
Once restarted, Windows will launch the Credential Guard Opt-out Tool. Press the Windows logo key or F3, then press Enter to continue.

Step 6: After completing the steps above, your PC will reboot. Once logged into Windows, you should see Device/Credential Guard marked as Disabled.
To verify, search for System Information using the Windows Search Bar.
